Castille Landon is best known as writer-director of the After feature franchise, based on the YA book series, but started her movie career as an actor in the female buddy comedy, Ass Backwards (2013), with June Diane Raphael, Casey Wilson, Alicia Silverstone, Jon Cryer, Vincent D’Onofrio, Brian Geraghty, and Bob Odenkirk under Chris Nelson’s direction, and which premiered at the Sundance film festival before a Gravitas Ventures release. Landon was then cast in support of writer-director Ryan Piers Williams’ drama, X/Y (2014), starring America Ferrera, Williams, Melonie Diaz, Amber Tamblyn, David Harbour, and Common, and premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. Landon continued to appear in supporting roles in several American indie features, including Among Ravens (2014), starring Amy Smart and Joshua Leonard; the Isaac Feder-directed comedy, Sex Ed (2014), with Haley Joel Osment, Laura Harring, Abby Elliott, and Glen Powell; the Nick Morgulis-directed drama, Paradise, FL (2015); writer-director Russell Friedenberg’s drama, Wind Walkers (2015), with Powell, Kiowa Gordon, and Heather Rae; and in the children’s movie directed by Tom DeNucci, Arlo: The Burping Pig (2016), with Drake Bell and Jonathan Lipnicki. Landon made her feature debut as writer-director with the fantasy, Albion: The Enchanted Stallion (2016), starring Daniel Sharman, Liam McIntyre, Debra Messing, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Dorff, and John Cleese. Castille Landon was director-writer of the family drama, Apple of My Eye (2017), starring Amy Smart, Avery Arendes, Liam McIntyre, and Burt Reynolds, and then continued as a writer-director of the psychological horror-thriller, Fear of Rain (2021), starring Katherine Heigl, Madison Iseman, Israel Broussard, Eugenie Bondurant, and Harry Connick Jr., and released by Lionsgate. Landon was director only of the third movie in the After film franchise, After We Fell (2021), based on Anna Todd’s YA book series, and featuring Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and Mira Sorvino, and grossing a solid $22 million for producer/distributor Voltage Pictures. Landon was again director only on the After sequel, After Ever Happy (2022), reprising the same cast and grossing $19 million for Voltage Pictures. Landon took a break from the After franchise as director of the sports melodrama produced by Decal and Constantin Film, Perfect Addiction (2023), with Kiana Madeira, Ross Butler, Matthew Noszka, and Manu Bennett. Castille Landon returned to the After franchise, but this time as director/writer/producer of the romantic drama series’ fifth installment, After Everything (2023), with the original cast and new cast member Stephen Moyer, and grossing $10.6 million globally for Voltage Pictures. Landon was then director-writer of the comedy, Summer Camp (2024), starring Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, Eugene Levy, Beverly D’Angelo, Nicole Ritchie, and Dennis Haysbert, and released wide by Roadside Attractions.
