Plot Summary
- Dominic "Dom" Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his team are requested by the Agency to steal a computer chip during its transit in Rome. Dom is a former criminal and professional street racer who has retired and settled down with his wife, Letty Ortiz, and his son, Brian Marcos (Leo Abelo Perry).Dom and his wife Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) stay behind with his son Brian "Little B" Marcos, while the rest of the team, consisting of Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) tech expert, Han Lue (Sung Kang) expert drifter, and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) a computer hacker, travels to Rome. The intelligence on the location of the chip came from Roman and so he leads the mission.A wounded Cipher (Charlize Theron) arrives at Dom's home in the middle of the night. Cipher is a criminal mastermind and Cyberterrorist who was previously an enemy of Dom's team and had killed his lover, Elena. Cipher tells him and Letty that Hernan Reyes's (Joaquim De Almeida) son Dante (Jason Momoa) has turned her own crew against Cipher (by kidnapping their families) and is using them to target Dom as revenge for his father's death and the loss of his family's fortune ten years prior. Cipher's team attacked her, but she managed to escape with some injuries and turned to Dom for help.Hernan Reyes was a ruthless, corrupt Portuguese Brazilian businessman and drug lord who Dominic Toretto and his team crossed paths with when they orchestrated a heist to steal $100 million from him. Dante was at the police station on the day Dominic stole the safe. Dante watched helplessly as Dominic drove the safe right into his car and threw him off the bridge. Dante could do nothing while Dominic killed Herman.The next morning, Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood) (A government law enforcement agent who worked under Mr. Nobody) arrives to take custody of Cipher. Little Nobody is surprised when Dom and Letty say that the rest of their team is working on the Agency mission in Rome. They realize this as a setup and travel to Rome to rescue the team. Cipher is transported to the agency's black site.In Rome, Tej and Ramsey break into a truck presumably containing the computer chip, only for them to realize it as a DM-79 Sub-Nautical Neutron mine. A Neutron mine is a weapon that detonates with a large burst of radiation. Neutron weapons have a lower explosive yield than conventional nuclear weapons. Dante begins controlling the truck remotely, activating and releasing the bomb (which was encased in a large spherical container) into the streets. The heavy sphere rolls down the city of Rome causing widespread mayhem and destruction. Dom arrives and pushes the bomb into the Tiber River, minimizing the damage, and Letty is apprehended by the police. In water, the potency of the bomb is reduced by 10 times, but it still causes huge damage to the immediate vicinity of its explosion.Aimes (Alan Ritchson), the Agency's De Facto leader since Mr. Nobody's disappearance, assumes that Dom and his team are responsible for the bombing and begins a manhunt. Aimes tells Mr. Nobody's daughter Tess that Dominic's team specializes in corrupting law enforcement agents sent to apprehend them and make them family. This includes Brian O'Connor, Elena Neves, Luke Hobbs and even Mr. Nobody. Aimes says that the gang has stolen 100s of millions of dollars and at least one nuclear submarine. Tess tries to argue that the family has protected the Agency's interests for a decade, and yet the Agency approves Aimes' proposal to kill or capture the Toretto clan by any means.Magdalene "Queenie" Ellmanson-Shaw (Helen Mirren) meets Dom in Rome to extend her support. Queenie says that Dom's team is safe, but the Agency has Letty. Dom asks Queenie to send a message to Mr Nobody's daughter.In Los Angeles, Dom and Mia's (Jordana Brewster) brother Jakob (John Cena) rescues Little B and Mia from a squad sent by Aimes to apprehend them, and with Mia's approval, takes Little B to a secret location in Portugal, where they will await Dom. Mr. Nobody's daughter Tess (Brie Larson) is convinced of the team's innocence and uses God's Eye, a mass surveillance computer program, to find Dom in Naples, informing him that Dante is in Rio De Janeiro. Dom also asks Tess to rescue Letty.Dom challenges Dante to a race in Rio with Elena Neves's sister Isabel (Daniela Melchior) and Dom's ally Diogo (Luis Da Silva). Elena was Dom's former girlfriend and Little B's mother. If Dom wins, he gets to take Dante in custody. Just before the race, Dante indicates that he will make Dom chose between Diogo and Isabel. Dom realizes that Dante had planted bombs in Isabel and Diogo's car. In the ensuing race, Dante kills Diogo when Dom chooses to save Isabel. Dante wins the race. Isabel shares all of Elena's files on the Reyes family with Dom. Dom finds that Dante had sold each one of his father's properties but had rented the abandoned Police Station where the heist took place.Tess visits Letty at the black site, covertly wounding her in the process. This sends Letty to the prison's treatment center, where Cipher is present. Deducing that the black site is located in Antarctica, they must work together to escape.Dom's team, who had escaped Rome in a shipping container, regroup and head to the rendezvous point with Dom. Dante had hacked all their accounts, and the team had no money. Fortunately, Roman was carrying some cash on his person, with which the team buys the hardware they need. Aimes had already put a huge reward for the team on the black market and the team is betrayed as soon as they step into a store. In London, Dom's team turns to Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) for help, through the convincing of Han after a scuffle between himself and Deckard. Han and Deckard are attacked by Aimes' men, but they join forces to defeat them.As Jakob and Little B enter an airport, Aimes gets a hit on them through the surveillance cameras. Aimes also tracks Tess' flight path and figures that Dom is in Rio. Aimes apprehends Dom in Rio before Dante intercepts them on the same bridge where the two previously met for the first time during the vault heist. Dante had captured Isable and threatened to kill her, but Tess intervenes and starts killing Dante's men.After a sniper injures Tess, Dante steals God's Eye from her. As Dante escapes on a helicopter, he tells Dom that he will kill Dom's son. While Tess is taken to the hospital by Isabel, Aimes allies with Dom to fight Dante. Aimes flies with Dom to Portugal.Dante locates Little B in Portugal through God's Eye and kidnaps him after defeating Jakob (who was trying to escape with Little B in a heavily fortified car). Dom drops from the plane in his car as he finds Jakob and Little B under attack and being pursued by Dante. As Dom is cornered by mercenaries, Jakob sacrifices himself to wipe them all out, allowing Dom to rescue Little B.Dante again corners the pair on a dam on their way to an airfield (where Aimes was going to rescue them) and acknowledges Aimes as a double agent working with him, at which point he also shoots down a plane carrying Roman, Tej, Han, and Ramsey. The plane crashes out of sight, behind the dam.Dom drives off the edge of the dam he and Little B are on to avoid another 2 huge oil rigs coming at them from opposite ends of the dam. Dom drives down the slope of the dam and ends up in the shallow water ahead of it. Witnessing their escape, Dante triggers explosives planted onto the dam, intending to kill the pair.In Antarctica, Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot), who was presumed dead, emerges from a submarine to rescue Letty and Cipher. Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) infiltrates an abandoned theatre with a team of agents where he is contacted by Dante, who tells him that he will be his next target for killing his father. Hobbs replies that he is not hard to find and crushes the phone Dante contacted him on with his bare hands.

- The end of the road begins.
